Warehouse Assistant
COUNTRY PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
International Medical Corps has been present in Cameroon since 2008 to provide assistance to thousands of CAR refugees who have crossed the bordered sheltered in Cameroon as a consequence of the political and social troubles which occurred in CAR since 2005. International Medical Corps is providing essential health and nutrition care to more than 75 000 Nigerian Refugees in the Minawao refugee Camp in the Far North Region according to last data from HCR and its partners .
Missions and Responsibilities
Main objective
In close collaboration with the Project team, The Warehouse Assistant under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer is responsible of the management of all the items in warehouse, Check the compliance of documentation of warehouse, receives all the goods in quality and quantity which have to be stored. In accordance with his supervisor, monitor goods leave the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Specific tasks:
Daily
• Ensure the movements of items stored
• Make sure that the physical quantity of some items are complied to stock card
• Make sure there is a good receive note for each item to store
• Make sure there is a Good Issue Order with all the signatures before a leave of good from warehouse.
Animation of the Operations / Logistics team
a. Collects remarks, diagnoses problems and proposes solutions to his supervisor.
b. When necessary, warn his supervisor to:
• Critical level of items
• The non-compliance of certain warehouse documents
• Other problems from warehouse and items stored.
Reports
a. Weekly. Provide weekly reports for warehouse operations (fuel and warehouse) to his direct supervisor by the end of each Thursday, after obtaining updates from Warehouse. This report just concerns the items moved
b. Monthly. Provide monthly inventory which will attached for monthly report. This inventory concerns fuel, program input, stationary and all items stored
Coordination with other departments
a. Maintain a close relationship with field Sites & Program departments to ensure good issues operations.
b. Foster a close working relationship with Finance Department.
Documentation.
a. Ensures all warehouse operations are fully documented (fuel, warehouse, program input…).
b. Implements any task and duty requested by his direct supervisor related to the above job description.
- Education, experience and skills
Education / Experience
• Knowledge of generic procurement procedures and practices (experience with IMC or any other NGO is a plus);
• Knowledge of legislation / major regulations;
• 02 years’ experience in logistics;
• Holder of a valid driving license
• Communication skills – should be able to speak French and knowledge of English will be and asset;
• Mastery of the computer tools.
Skills
• Perfect personal integrity;

• Pay attention to detail;
• Good communication skills.
Language
• Proficiency in the local language,
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)

- Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies;
- Consider security implications of all program activities, reviewing all new initiatives with others staffs and community leaders and community volunteers.
