Association des Femmes et Filles de l’Adamaoua (AFFADA) is passionate about the empowerment of women through social inclusion, gender equality, education, participation in decision-making processes and the promotion of self-determination. In a world where equal opportunities are of great importance, AFFADA works with dedication to give women the tools to go their own way and achieve their goals. The counselling and support centre for victims of gender-based violence in Ngaoundéré offers a confidential shelter and encounters with empathetic professionals.

At the Saare Tabitha girls’ education centre, a place of education and inspiration, our partner organisation not only strengthens the position of women, but also creates a diverse community that builds bridges between different groups. Under the leadership of Saare Tabitha, women and girls develop their skills to play a key role in our society.

In the dynamic programme for violence prevention, conflict transformation and peacebuilding Civil Peace Service (CPS), you will actively shape the future by strengthening partner organisations in a sustainable way. Your role aims to promote dialogue and long-term advocacy for human rights and peace in conflict regions with reliable partner organisations such as AFFADA and Saare Tabitha. Job Scope
You will be significantly involved in the design of projects and programmes for the empowerment of women. Your focus will be on effective collaboration with various stakeholders, evaluating programmes and developing the skills of specialist staff.
In detail, your tasks include:
- In-depth analysis and identification of needs in order to refine programmes and strengthen specialist staff
- Exchange with internal teams and external partners for programme development
- Conceptual involvement in projects/programmes for the empowerment of women
- Building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Conception and realisation of workshops
- Expert motivational counselling tailored to needs, both professional and collegial
- Regular business trips, e.g. to Saare Tabitha in Maroua
Profile
- Study specialisations that enable an examination of psychological aspects of health
- Expertise in empathetic empowerment of women in conflict contexts
- Experience in project-based international cooperation would be an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team-orientated approach and conflict-sensitive communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken French
- Enthusiasm for promoting colleagues and learning together
- Openness and motivation for social integration into the Cameroonian culture and flexibility for regular business trips in the region
Citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or Switzerland is required.
