I- OPPORTUNITY

 The Grants Accountant will be responsible for the business planning process by participating in the annual budget process and reviewing grant proposals to ensure that they comply with Plan’s internal requirements and that a portion of the budget is allocated to cover Plan International’s regular expenses (salaries, rent, utilities…). He/she will manage the accounting and treasury by ensuring that journal entries are prepared on a monthly basis for the recovery of salary costs. He/she will also ensure that the overheads budget is recovered on a quarterly basis through payments and supporting documentation. He/she will also be responsible for financial reporting and analysis. To improve the management of grant projects and ensure maximum cost recovery. He/she will also be responsible for building the capacity of non-accounting staff to acquire knowledge of financial procedures.

 

II-ABOUT YOU

 

The Grants Accountant must have a university degree in accounting/finance/management and three years’ experience in a similar role or in grants management. He/she must have a good knowledge of project management and good experience and knowledge of accounting and grant management regulations and procedures. He/she should also have good experience and knowledge of accounting and grant management regulations and procedures; a good team spirit (ability to work in a team) and a good command of Microsoft applications, in particular spreadsheets (e.g. Excel).
