WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award is one of the world’s leading sustainability awards. The WIN WIN Youth Award aims to empower and reward young people who play an active role in the creation of a more sustainable future.
The award is a non-profit organisation financed by members who, like them, are committed to creating a better future. The winners are appointed by an independent jury containing members with diverse backgrounds within academia, private industry, public sector, and civil society. The Global Goals is their guide in the selection of a yearly theme.

- The award of 1 million SEK has been presented yearly since 2000 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Eligibility Criteria
- The WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award is open to individuals, organisations, or movements worldwide that contribute significantly to sustainability, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each year, the award centres on a specific theme that guides the selection of initiatives eligible for recognition.
- The WIN WIN Youth Award is open to individuals or groups of changemakers between the ages of 13 and 29.
Selection Criteria
- The winners are appointed by an independent jury that assesses candidates based on criteria such as impact, scalability, systems thinking, and a holistic approach to sustainability. These criteria ensure that the laureates’ work not only addresses immediate challenges but also has the potential for broad, long-term impact and positive change.
