Atlas Corps is now accepting applications from partnership-building and business development professionals to be considered for the Fellowship.

Fellows will develop their skills by serving at mission-driven organizations to mobilize networks, manage partnerships, research new funding opportunities, and develop business proposals in the social impact sector. These Fellows will also support the Atlas Corps mission of strengthening U.S.-based organizations by contributing their international perspective and expertise to advancing social impact goals.

The Atlas Corps Fellowship engages global professionals committed to social impact in 12-18 months of service with organizations in the U.S. to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global leaders.

Impact Areas
  • Candidates may use their skills and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Research & Strategy:
      • Performing market research to identify potential partners or donors in a region or industry; tracking new business and grant opportunities; investigating funding trends in social issue areas; providing strategic guidance on how an organization can grow its presence in a particular region or industry; and developing recommendations for how to engage with new partners.
    • Partnership Outreach and Cultivation:
      • Participating in networking events and meetings; conducting cold outreach through email; managing business pipelines; and joining initial consultation calls with prospective partners to cultivate new relationships with mission-aligned organizations.
    • Partnership Stewardship & Portfolio Management:
      • Organizing, preparing, and facilitating calls, events, meetings, trainings, and other logistical and administrative support resources for partners; monitoring and responding to partnership needs; maintaining a database of current partnerships and portfolios; and drafting internal and external partnership-related communications, including email correspondence, case studies, meeting briefs, and partnership profiles.
    • Proposal and Marketing Support:
      • Preparing technical and administrative aspects of grant and business development proposals; drafting concept notes for new opportunities; reviewing and vetting proposals; and conceptualizing and developing marketing materials such as pitch decks, presentations, and one-pagers.
Opportunities to Connect with Atlas Corps Fellows Globally
  • Fellows will also participate in the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab professional development series to develop their leadership skills and engage in networking opportunities with Atlas Corps Fellows from around the world.
  • There is also the opportunity to participate in group cultural activities such as a D.C. Monuments Tour, sporting events, U.S. holiday celebrations, and more.
  • In addition to building connections with peers during the Fellowship, alumni will also join the Atlas Corps network of approximately 1,700 rising leaders from 116+ countries.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Basic Eligibility Requirements
    • Candidates for this fellowship must have a college degree, be highly proficient in English, be no older than 35, and be committed to applying their experience in their home country or region after the program.
    • Candidates should have at least two years of experience in one of the partnership-building and/or business development areas (Proposal and Marketing Support, Partnership Stewardship & Portfolio Management, Partnership Outreach and Cultivation, Research & Strategy) within the social impact sector.

    • Soft Skills
      • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of partners;
      • Written and oral communication skills;
      • Multitasker with the ability to manage several processes simultaneously and prioritize;
      • Highly organized with good time management;
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
      • Detail-oriented;
      • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment; and
      • Ability to take the initiative in the completion of assigned tasks and develop new partnerships
    • Hard Skills
      • Excellent analytical and research skills.
      • Working knowledge of customer relationship platforms such as Salesforce
      • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for partnership-building and business development activities
      • Working knowledge of budgeting and costing for proposals
      • Fundraising and proposal development knowledge
      • Experience in project management and report writing
