Program Assistant – Nutrition (Local Hire)

I. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and monitor Nutrition programme, verify the planned movements and distribution of nutrition products, resolving routine issues and/or escalating where appropriate, to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with the standards.
  • Summarize Nutrition data, conduct analysis and prepare reports to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  • Support communication and activities with other partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions.
  • Build team capacity in Nutrition through effective guidance, coaching, training, and accountability.
  • Assist in developing and expanding malnutrition prevention activities through promotion of IYCF and awareness raising in targeted areas.
  • Strengthen eternal stakeholder engagement including district local governments to strengthen nutrition programming
  • Participate in regional level nutrition technical working group discussions as may be required by the Nutrition Manager.
  • Ensure that protocols are strictly followed and implemented.
  • Participate to the forecasting and provision of the nutrition products and other supplies for each site in a timely manner.
  • Make sure reports are accurate and complete.
  • Work in close collaboration with the nutrition assistant and health staff in terms of identification of the beneficiaries, screening and referral, community case follow-up.
  • Carryout any other duties as may be required to enable and develop IMC’s programs.

II. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • University degree in any of the following disciplines: Nutrition, Nurse, Public Health, or related field with minimum two years working experience with NGOs.
  • Working experience of at least one year in IMAM or Maternal and Child Health program.
  • Experience in nutrition program and community work.
  • Experience in training of volunteers on IMAM program.
  • Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • fluency English (verbal and written) and pidgin is required

Security

Ensures application and compliance of security protocols and policies.

Ethical Conduct for IMC Staff

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps
