THE OPPORTUNITY

The Project Assistant will contribute in the development and/or implementation and monitoring of the Global Refugee Education Strategy and its adaptation at national level. You will work with partners to advocate for refugee access to local state schools, and lobby for the inclusion of refugees as a specific group in government education policies and plans.

It will also be your responsibility to support and monitor refugee education projects and programmes implemented by Plan International, its project partners and other stakeholders. You will work closely with assistants, officers and community relays to identify priority education issues and key data required for programme planning and monitoring – to ensure compliance with international and Plan International’s minimum standards.

ABOUT YOU

The Project Assistant should have a degree in Law, International Law, Political Science, Education Science, Social Science or a related fields with a good knowledge of international refugee and human rights law.

It will be vital you have either a minimum of two (02) years relevant experience with a postgraduate degree (Master’s equivalent) or three (03) years with an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s equivalent).

Experience in refugee education programmes – including education in emergency situations – will be highly considered an advantage. Desirable knowledge of Plan International and UN refugee policies and procedures, field experience and a Commitment to helping the people concerned and willingness to cooperate with partners will also be enablers in meeting the obligation of this role.
