UNICEF CAMEROON had developed CPD which had been entering into force at the beginning of 2022. The CPD process is an opportunity for UNICEF to review its Programme and refine its priorities. This year, UNICEF Cameroon plans to organize a retreat to further enhance staff development in team building, providing them with the tools and skills to adapt to changes and respond effectively to the challenges of creating an effective and efficient team. The retreat will also be an opportunity for the office to take a step back to reflect on the challenges faced by staff to build an effective and efficient team as well as discuss the best ways to ensure staff’s participation and cooperation in change-processes based on the results of PULSE SURVEY/GSS 2022.

How can you make a difference?
To facilitate and prepare a training and team building plan clearly articulating the content of the different sessions for the team building exercise with objectives and duration of each session, as well as activities (including team games, etc.) in the team building retreat workshop and set interactive and flexible facilitation tools and materials prepared before the workshop.
Task and Responsibility
The consultant is required to work closely with UNICEF Cameroon to successfully deliver on this retreat.
Specifically, the consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:
- Develop a plan for a 3-day team-building exercise.
- Facilitate a -days team building exercise, and
- Prepare a final report outlining the workshop’s methodology, including practical recommendations and tools that can be used by UNICEF in the future to improve teamwork.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have
- Master’s degree in Sociology/Psychology/Management or a closely related field
- 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven track record of facilitating team building and knowledge-sharing workshops and consultancy experience with an international organization.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full computer literacy and fluency in French and English – both written and spoken – are essential

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
