JOB PURPOSE

The Information Management Officer will report to the Country Director on supporting in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating the overall country office’s operational information, in close coordination with all relevant Units, including RAM and IT.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or another relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
  • Experience: At least three (3) years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, preferably in Information Management, data management and analysis, and with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
  • Language: International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP working language).
  • National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Ensure data management for the Cameroon Country Office by developing and managing an inter-unit knowledge management platform for sharing information, learning, and reporting, providing data insights to facilitate performance monitoring and informed decision-making (One-Stop-Shop), in close coordination with the RAM and IT Units.
  2. Develop an archival system to manage data in close coordination with relevant units.
  3. Support the production of regular and ad-hoc reports as required within the operation, ensuring the key facts and figures are updated. Key products include Situation reports, Dashboards, Topic Briefs, and Daily Quick-Readouts.
  4. Support to liaise with all functional areas as well as external partners, when appropriate, to collate and disseminate political and humanitarian analysis pertaining to WFP’s current or future responses, donor policies, trends, and preferences to ensure country-specific input to WFP’s operational reporting.
  5. Support to collaborate with counterparts internally to ensure consistency in operational information and comprehensive situation overview of the information management.
  6. Support the preparation of the Annual Corporate Report (ACR) for the Annual Reporting Exercise in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions by coordinating to ensure coherence and quality of performance information, as required.
  7. Facilitate the establishment, moderation, and maintenance of various mailing lists.
  8. Support to standardize and execute quality control of country office-level data, assessments, and activity reports.

FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and reporting skills, with a demonstrated ability to research, draft and clear concise information products or analyses.
  • Excellent knowledge of humanitarian operations, methods, and systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization software MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SPSS, DOTS, Tableau, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Experience in data management and analysis, coordination, and reporting.
  • Knowledge or interest of design or graphic software is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in challenging environments/field locations.
